Franco Fontana e il TFF
Alla sua diciottesima edizione il TFF rinnova anche quest’anno l’appuntamento all’incontro di grandi artisti, studiosi e appassionati di fotografia nel cuore dell’Alta Maremma.
Massa Marittima ospiterà i più grandi maestri della fotografia contemporanea, che da anni scelgono il TFF per condividere e far conoscere la loro arte.
Il TFF è una delle più significative manifestazioni di fotografia non solo in Toscana, ma anche e soprattutto in ambito nazionale ed internazionale, grazie alla fama dei maestri fotografi provenienti da tutto il mondo e all’affluenza copiosa ai workshop di persone di tutte le età, formazione e provenienza.
Obiettivo del TFF è quello di favorire la diffusione del linguaggio fotografico e le sue dinamiche di comunicazione, offrendo all’arte della fotografia uno spazio, un’occasione per esprimere il meglio di sé e offrendo ai corsisti, che potranno lavorare fianco a fianco dei maestri, l’opportunità di apprenderne i segreti e le tecniche, nello spirito della “bottega”, scoprendo e valorizzando la
propria professionalità e il proprio talento.
La direzione artistica è da sempre affidata a Franco Fontana, maestro riconosciuto a livello internazionale, che collabora con riviste e giornali quali Vogue, Time-Life, Panorama, Epoca, New York, Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine. Le sue opere sono esposte nei più prestigiosi musei di arte contemporanea del mondo. Con la sua guida e con il sostegno della città di Massa Marittima, la
collaborazione di Enti e sponsor privati, il TFF consentirà anche quest’anno un intenso viaggio nel mondo della fotografia, con workshop e mostre di artisti internazionali e italiani, premi fotografici e proiezioni.
Dal 8 al 17 Luglio, periodo clou della manifestazione, si svolgeranno i workshop suddivisi in due cicli settimanali e accompagnati da mostre fotografiche, multivisioni, incontri, dibattiti e iniziative collaterali quali lettura e critica dei portfolio nel Chiostro di Sant’Agostino, un’opportunità agli appassionati di fotografia di esporre il proprio lavoro a critici. In quest’occasione verrà assegnato il“Premio Epson Le Logge”.
Nata l’anno scorso con successo continua la collaborazione con l’omologo festival fotografico della Norvegia, il Nordic Light Festival, che prevede scambi di mostre e seminari dei rispettivi direttori artistici e maestri fotografi.
Anche per i non addetti ai lavori visitare, durante la manifestazione, Massa Marittima e le bellissime mostre diventa un’occasione stimolante per fare un tuffo nell’arte e nella cultura contemporanea più innovativa, immersi in una delle più belle e caratteristiche città d'Europa.

On the occasion of its 18th edition the Toscana Foto Festival renews the appointment to the meeting of famous artists, students and people keen on photography in the northerner part of Maremma.
Massa Marittima will see coming the most important masters of contemporary photography that since years run courses there in order both to share and to explain their ways of working in the photography field.
The TFF is one of the most important photography event and it is well known not only in Tuscany but also and mainly all over Italy and abroad , thanks both to the notoriously masters who come from all over the world to run workshops and thanks to the big multitude of a wide range of people ( different in age, vocational trainings and origins) who usually attend the workshops.
The objective of the TFF is to promote the language of photography and its communication methods, giving by the way to the art of photography a space, a chance to express itself at best and offering in the meanwhile to the students, who will work side by side with the masters, the opportunity to learn both their secrets and their techniques, in order to let improve one’s profession
and one’s talent.
Franco Fontana will be the art director: he is a master known at an international level and he cooperates with newspapers and magazines such as Vogue, Time-Life, Panorama, Epoca, New York Times, Frankfurter Allgemeine. His works are exhibited in the most eminent museums in the world. Both public agencies and private sponsors will support the TFF which, like every year, will consist of workshops, exhibitions of Italian and foreign artists, slide shows and photographic prizegiving.
From 8th to 17th of July, core period of the event, the workshops will run into two weekly working cycles and will also accompanied by photographic exhibitions, slide shows, meetings, discussions and other initiatives such as the reading of portfolio, which will have place by the Saint Agostino cloister, an which is an opportunity to all those loving photography to exhibit their works at the presence of very important critics. On this occasion the “Epson Le Logge Prize ” will be awarded.
Born last year with success goes on the cooperation with the Norwegian photography festival, named ‘Nordic Light Festival’, meaning a valuable exchange of exhibitions, seminaries, art directors and masters.
Even for all those people who are not directly involved in the TFF, a tour in Massa Marittima during the event will be an exciting chance to be acquainted with the most newfangled kind of contemporary art and culture in one of the most beautiful European trademark.
