In occasione del cinquantesimo anniversario della fondazione della Società dei Terzieri Massetani, il
Terziere di Cittavecchia indice un concorso fotografico di immagini e particolari degli angoli più
caratteristici e suggestivi del territorio bianconero.
• Il premio è a tema, ogni concorrente è invitato a fotografare particolari, scorci e volti nell'ambito
dei confini del territorio del Terziere di Cittavecchia che verrà segnalato attraverso la cartina
allegata al regolamento.
• Ogni concorrente può presentare un minimo di 5 ad un massimo di 15 immagini (si
accettano solo stampe). Il formato e il supporto delle fotografie è lasciato alla libera scelta
dell’autore. Si accettano tutte le tecniche di ripresa e di stampa.
• Non saranno accettate diapositive. Sul retro di ogni foto dovrà essere inserito, ben leggibile
nome cognome e indirizzo dell’autore. Durante la serata conclusiva saranno proiettate le
immagini più significative, pertanto è necessario che insieme alle stampe sia inviato anche un
cd con le immagini in digitale. Le immagini e i cd non saranno restituiti.
• Per partecipare occorre far pervenire entro e non oltre il 14 luglio 2010 le immagini corredate
dai propri dati anagrafici e un recapito telefonico alla segreteria del Toscana Foto Festival:

• L’autore è l’unico responsabile del contenuto delle immagini fotografiche, ad ogni effetto di

immagini pervenute la migliore e la più rappresentativa, dandone pubblica comunicazione
sabato 17 luglio ore 22,00 durante la serata conclusiva dove avverranno le assegnazioni
dei Premi.
• Il giudizio della Giuria è inappellabile e la partecipazione al Premio implica l’accettazione
incondizionata del presente regolamento.
• Il premio è costituito da:
- buono valido per la partecipazione ad uno dei workshop che si svolgeranno durante la XIX
edizione del Toscanafotofestival nel 2011,
- ingresso gratuito con posti riservati in tribuna per 2 persone e pernottamento in
occasione del Balestro del Girifalco del mese di agosto 2010
• L’Organizzazione si riserva il diritto di duplicare le opere del vincitore per un eventuale uso su
materiale pubblicitario, cataloghi e per la promozione della manifestazione, citando il nome
dell’Autore.
• È indispensabile che i vincitori ritirino personalmente il premio durante la serata delle

On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Society of the Terzieri Massetani,
the Terziere of Cittavecchia (old part of the city) announces a photographic competition intended
for images and details of the most picturesque and beautiful corners of the black &white territory.
• The award is a theme prize, each competitor is invited to take details, views and faces within the
boundaries of the Terziere of Cittavecchia which will be indicated on the map annexed to the
Regulation.
• Each competitor may submit a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 15 images (only prints are
accepted). The format and the support of the photos can be chosen by the author. All the
techniques of shooting and printing are accepted.
• Slides will not be accepted. Author’s name, surname and address must be clearly written on the
back of each photo. During the final night the most significant pictures will be projected, that means
the prints must be sent together with a cd containing digital images. The images and the cd will
not be returned.
• To participate to the competition it is necessary to send the pictures complete of personal data
and a telephone number within and no later than July 14, 2010 to the secretary of Toscana Foto
Festival:

• The author is the only responsible for the content of the pictures to all legal intents.
• The jury will meet on Thursday, July 15 2010, to decide and select the best and the most
representative picture among all the received ones, giving public notice of it on Saturday night,
July 17 at 10:00 p.m. which will be the final night when the prize-giving will also take place.
• The jury’s decision is final and participating in the Prize implies complete acceptance of the
present Regulation.
• The prize consists of:
- one participation voucher for a workshop of the nineteenth edition of the Toscanafotofestival in
2011,
- free admission and reserved box seats for two people at the archery competition “Balestro del
Girifalco” in the month of August 2010
• The Organizers reserve the right to duplicate the works of the winner for possible advertising use,
for catalogues and to promote the event, quoting the name of the author.

Fra il tramonto e l'alba è un conco(r)so in cui vogliamo invitare fotografi amatori e professionisti a
cimentarsi con ritratti e paesaggi con luce naturale ma non diurna e a riflettere sul ruolo del cielo
come sfondo (o a volte come protagonista) delle scene in cui ci muoviamo.
Il conco(r)so viene proposto da pibinko.org e promosso dal Toscana Foto Festival.
L'idea per il conco(r)so nasce nell'ambito di un progetto in atto da due anni, denominato BuioMetria
Partecipativa. Tale progetto si propone di sensibilizzare la popolazione su scala nazionale rispetto
alla problematica dell'inquinamento luminoso e di creare una mappa della qualità del cielo notturno
attraverso processi partecipati.
Negli scorsi due anni Andrea Giacomelli e Francesco Giubbilini, gli ideatori di questo progetto
(nonché ideatori del conco(r)so) hanno avuto modo di incontrare e confrontarsi con vari tipi
paesaggi non diurni...cieli stellati, crinali rischiarati dalla luna, giochi di ombre e di sfumature di
albe.
Il conco(r)so vuol quindi essere un'occasione per sapere come altri vedono la bellezza dei paesaggi
fra il tramonto e l'alba, e premiare le visioni più originali.
Oltre che da maestri e fotografi professionisti o passionisti, ci aspettiamo che il grosso dei contributi
arrivi da parte di categorie differenti: turisti che si attardano la sera sulla spiaggia, da lavoratori
nelle metropoli padane di agosto, che dopo un aperitivo possono cercare scorci delle alpi o degli
appennini, o da giovani che -al termine di una lunga notte in discoteca- si fermino per un momento
a immortalare il sole che sorge. Nell'ambito del conco(r)so è inoltre incoraggiata la partecipazione
di astrofili, che avranno la possibilità di proporre immagini di cieli stellati e di stelle che richiedono
attrezzature non alla portata del singolo fotoamatore. Inoltre, sarà data attenzione a scatti che
evidenzino in modo artistico casi particolarmente eclatanti di inquinamento luminoso.
La giuria sarà composta da maestri esperti nel ritrarre paesaggi, di terra e di cielo.
Il conco(r)so si svolgerà fra maggio e agosto 2010. Nel corso del Toscana Foto Festival si darà un
aggiornamento sullo svolgimento dello stesso, mentre la premiazione si terrà nel mese di ottobre, a
Massa Marittima.
Per dare agli aspiranti concorrenti qualche spunto di lavoro, verrà allestita una mostra con alcune
immagini riprese da maestri paesaggisti e specialisti in cieli notturni. La mostra sarà accessibile online
e sarà anche visitabile dal vivo, nel corso del Toscana Foto Festival, presso il bar Le Logge,
antistante il Comune di Massa Marittima.
Il sito e il regolamento sono diffusi in più lingue, e vogliamo invitare alla partecipazione fotografi
che visiteranno l'Italia nei prossimi mesi o che vorranno condividere con il Toscana Foto Festival
immagini dai rispettivi paesi di origine.

Between dusk and dawn is a photography contest in which we want to challenge amateur and
professional photographers to submit photographs of portraits and landscapes under non-daylight
conditions, and to make people reflect on the role of the sky as a backdrop (or, at times, a
protagonist) of the scenes in which we move.
The contest has been created by pibinko.org and is promoted by the Toscana Foto Festival.
The idea for the contest spawns from a project which has been running now for over two years,
called BuioMetria Partecipativa (i.e. participatory dark sky quality monitoring). This project is
aimed at raising awareness across Italy on light pollution, and at the creation of a map of dark sky
quality by means of participatory processes.
During the course of the project, its creators, Andrea Giacomelli and Francesco Giubbilini, are
having the opportunity of observing various types of "non-daylight" landscapes...starry skies,
moonlit ridges, and nuances and shadow plays of sunsets and dawns.
The contest wants to be an opportunity to see how others see the beauty of scenes "between dusk
and dawn", and to reward the most original visions.
In addition to the participation of professional and amateur photographers, we encourage a diversity
of contributions: from the idle tourist lingering on a beach beyond late afternoon, from the city
dweller contemplating an alpine landscape on the distant horizon after a long day's work, from the
young and care-free taking in the sunrise after a night of partying, ... Stargazers are also welcome to
participate, with splendid images of starry skies that evade the lenses of amateur photographers.
Furthermore, photos identifying in a creative way outstanding cases of light pollution will be
highlighted.
Last but not least, we encourage the participation of stargazers, who may propose images of starry
skies which cannot typically be obtained with cameras used by amateur photographers.
The jury will be composed of experts in different aspects of land and sky landscapes and scenery.
The contest will take place between May and August 2010. Updates will be provided during the
Toscana Foto Festival. The closing event, with announcement of the winners, will be held in Massa
Marittima in October.
To inspire and guide aspiring participants, an exhibition will be prepared, with some images by
landscape photography masters and specialists in dark sky scenes.
Scenes from the exhibition will be available on line, and may also be visited directly during the
Toscana Foto Festival, at the Le Logge cafe, in Massa Marittima.
The contest web site and the rules for participation are published in multiple languages: we wish to
foster participation from photographers who may be visiting Italy over the coming months, as well
as from anyone who would like to share images from their home country with the Toscana Foto
Festival.
